Kathmandu Durbar Square

Syambhunath Temple

 Syambhunath Temple is at a distance of 4km from Kathmandu Durbar Square. 

This temple is located at top of hill with magnificent view of the Kathmandu Valley.

Syambhunath is one of the holiest Buddhist stupas in Nepal. It is believed to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of a primordial lake more than 2,000 years ago.

According to the Gopālarājavaṃśāvalī, it was founded by the great-grandfather of King Mānadeva (464-505 CE), King Vṛsadeva, about the beginning of the 5th century CE.

Patan Durbar Square

Patan Durbar Square is around 9 km from Syambhunath Temple. It is the center of attraction of Lalitpur District in Kathmandu Valley.

This durbar square is a representation of rich newari culture. It has temples, stupas, monuments, ponds around the durbar.

Krishna Mandir, Pimbahal Pokhari, Mangal Bazar, Patan Museum are some famous places to do activities and roam around in Patan.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is around 12-13 kms from Patan Durbar Square. It is the center of attraction of Bhaktapur District in Kathmandu Valley.

Nagarkot-Chisapani hiking

This trek starts with early morning drive from Kathmandu to Nagarkot(or from Nagarkot if you stay in Nagarkot for the Night). After breakfast in Nagarkot, you start hiking through the trail towards Chisapani. It is 5-6 hours walking from Nagarkot till Chisapani.

During the trek, you go through steep climb and downhill through the forest. You can find various floras and faunas during the walk. This forest is a part of Shivapuri National Park which consists of many wildlife such as Himalayan Black Bear, floral, Jungle cat, Jungle Hen(kaliz) in this National Park.

Nagarkot lies at the height of 2175m above the sea level with the view of Himalayan Range ranging from Himalayan range till the Everest. 

Day hiking in Nagarjun Hill

Nagarjuna Hill, also described in literature as Vindya Mountain, is the most popular pilgrimage site for Hindus as well as Buddhists. It is located in North West part of Kathmandu valley. This hill is seven km. Far from Kathmandu valley after completing the three hours of walk one can reach on the top of Nagarjun hill.

The starting point of this hike is Balaju bypass from there you need to step ascend on tree shadows trail to reach on the top of Nagarjun hill.

On the northern side of the hill outside the forest, there is a famous cave of Nagarjuna which still exists. There are images of Akshobhya and Nagarjuna inside. Tibetans call this cave of Guru Rimpoche, while local people call it as Laxmi Gupha.

It has Jamacho viewpoint from 6981 feet (2128 meters) and is the main point of attraction.  It has spectacular Himalayan scenery captured in your mind as well as your camera. It has a spectacular view of the Himalayan scenes of Jugal, Ganesh Himal within the Langtang region. The view of Kathmandu Valley is amazing from the top of Nagarjun Hill. 

The hiking trip starts with 10 minutes’ drive from our hotel to Balaju. Balaju has a beautiful park called ’22 tap park’. These 22 taps are considered as holy tap, so it carries great auspicious value. From Balaju, we begin our hike and it takes approximately 2 hours to reach to the top. At the top of the Nagarjuna hill, there is a summer palace of a former king. Your hike is also facilitated with the great variety of flora and fauna.
